Boat Winterization

Boat Winterization

At DSL Marine Transport & Services, we take the boat winterization process very seriously. Our #1 goal is first class protection of your vessel! We do not believe in taking any short cuts during this process. By doing so, we can help provide you with tools to make your boat not only last longer, but be as trouble free as possible. We use only premium oils, lubricants and anti-freeze products that will provide maximum protection for your boat during the long winter months.

For the outboard motor boat winterization, we drain and fill your lower unit with new lube. We fog both the carburetor(s) and cylinders, stabilize your remaining fuel, disconnect your battery and grease any fittings on the motor. We inspect the propeller and zincs for any damage that may have occurred during the boating season. We will inform you of any issues that you may want to correct prior to the upcoming boating season.

For our I/O and inboard motor boat winterization, we drain the block and manifolds and fill them with marine anti-freeze, fog the carburetor and grease any fittings on the outdrive. We inspect the belts and ignition system, for excessive wear and tear, and the propeller and zincs for any damage that may have occurred during the boating season. Outdrive inspections are recommended every 2 or 3 years, depending on the amount of usage. Oil changes are available on request for both I/O, inboard and outboard motors for an additional charge. We always replace the filter when we change your oil. It is recommended by the manufactures, that your oil be changed at least once per year, or every 100 hours.
